Broadly speaking, there is enough food, fresh water and other life essentials for everyone to thrive. The challenge is distributing those resources fairly to everyone. Transporting them is one thing, but the biggest problem is the WILL to transport them to everyone in need.

Is empathy the biggest shortage that humanity faces?

What a sad thought, especially given that empathy can be measurably developed just like muscles, mental health, and all kinds of intelligences. And the sooner we start our empathy 'work-outs', the better. Better for our families, our schools, our communities and the planet.

One way to kick-off empathy development is to get to know someone else and what a day in their shoes looks like. Or maybe that someone is a cat who doesn't wear shoes.
